We’re Sweco – Europe’s leading design, engineering and environmental consultancy – and we have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager to lead our Civil & Structural engineering team focusing on the Energy Sector. The successful candidate will drive our growth, set strategic goals, manage client relationships and ensure excellence in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Leadership: Lead and develop the team of Civil & Structural Engineers & Technicians, providing technical and pastoral mentorship.
* Strategic Leadership: Set and implement strategic objectives for the team, feeding into the strategic growth of the Energy sector.
* Technical Expertise: Provide high‑level technical guidance and oversight, acting as the technical authority and discipline lead.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Lead engagement efforts with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies and industry partners.
* Project Oversight: Manage and mentor the team to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
* Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities for business growth, expanding Sweco’s market presence.
* Thought Leadership: Represent Sweco in industry forums, conferences and publications, showcasing our expertise and thought leadership.
To Be Successful In This Role You’ll Possess
* Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering, preferably with chartered status.
* Professional Experience: Extensive experience (ideally 15+ years) in consulting engineering with a proven track record of leadership on complex projects.
* Technical Skills: In‑depth experience of Civil and/or Structural Engineering in a consultancy environment; experience in onshore wind, solar or BESS is advantageous.
* Communication Skills: Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing and inspiring diverse audiences.
* Project Management: Strong experience managing large‑scale multi‑disciplinary projects, including budgeting, timelines, risk management and stakeholder coordination.
* Willingness to travel: Ability to travel to meet and support our teams and clients across the UK.
