We are recruiting a Band 6 CT Radiographer for a 3-month contract in the North region of Scotland. This role includes shifts from 09:00-17:00, 13:00-21:00, plus variable on-call cover. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the CT imaging service, delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging to both scheduled and emergency patients.
Pay & Working Pattern
* Pay Rate: £38.00 - £40.00 per hour
* Contract: 3 months
* Shifts: 0900-1700 / 1300-2100 plus variable on-call duties
* Location: Highland region, Scotland
Key Responsibilities
As a CT Radiographer, you will:
* Operate CT scanners (with specific experience on GE Revolution systems essential) across a wide range of examinations including trauma, neuro, vascular, oncology, and emergency cases
* Perform contrast administration and IV cannulation in line with departmental protocols
* Justify and optimize CT imaging under IR(ME)R, ensuring balance of diagnostic quality and radiation dose
* Provide safe, accurate, and compassionate patient care during imaging procedures
* Participate in the on-call rota to support urgent and emergency CT imaging
* Contribute to audit, service evaluation, and departmental quality assurance
* Support training and supervision of junior radiographers or students where required
Essential Requirements
* HCPC registration (or equivalent UK diagnostic radiography registration)
* Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
* Minimum of 2 years' CT imaging experience, with confidence across a broad range of examinations
* Competence in IV cannulation and contrast administration
* Demonstrable experience using GE Revolution CT systems
* Strong understanding of IR(ME)R and radiation protection guidelines
* Ability to work independently during on-call duties
Desirable Skills
* Prior experience in trauma and emergency CT imaging
* Familiarity with rural healthcare environments or regional hospitals
* Experience mentoring or training staff
* Evidence of CPD, audit involvement, or service improvement
