This is a full-time permanent position involving a mixture of office (Birmingham) and site-based (Warwickshire) working.
Your new role
As Project Planner, you will be responsible for delivering a reliable and high‑quality planning service on a large‑scale civil engineering project in Warwickshire. Working closely with the site and project management teams, you will take ownership of programme development, schedule control and progress reporting across multiple disciplines and project phases.
Your role will involve coordinating inputs from area schedulers, ensuring all programme information is accurate, consistent and aligned with the overall project plan. You will carry out detailed quality checks on schedules prior to client submission and play a key role in managing how programme information ismunicated both internally and externally.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and maintaining detailed construction programmes
2. Monitoring progress against schedule, identifying variances and rmending corrective actions
3. Producing forecasts, progress updates and variance reports to support project decision‑making
4. Analysing programme data using tools such as lookaheads, filters, histograms and S‑curves
5. Preparing and delivering programme presentations to project teams and clients.
This position offers a high level of responsibility and visibility within the project team, ideal for a proactive Planner who enjoys collaboration, analysis and contributing directly to successful project delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:
6. Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
7. Proven experience working for a main contractor on heavy civils projects
8. Strong knowledge of civil works and construction sequencing
9. Proficiency in Primavera P6 planning software
10. Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider project team
11. Strong analytical and reporting capability with excellent attention to detail
12. Full UK driving licence.
