EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
We're looking to recruit a Freelance Site Engineer to join our team based at Chipping Warden.
The Site Engineer is responsible on site for overseeing junior engineers and assisting in construction operations in the Chipping Warden area.
You will liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, and materials to carry out work activities to the required standards, programme, and budget.
You will work with other members of the setting-out team, be responsible for the performance and development of junior engineers, and identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent. You will also monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure their work meets contractual requirements.
You will ensure the team has all current information and resources needed to carry out their duties. You will assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
About You
* HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent, and working towards institute membership (ICE).
* You must hold a CSCS card - White, White-Yellow, Red - Experienced, Black - Manager, or Gold - Supervisor.
* Previous highways or structures experience is essential.
* Knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities and construction supervision skills.
* Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures, or drainage is essential.
* You must hold a driving license and have access to a vehicle.
