Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for an Assistant Tax Advisor for our oil service company client. This is a full time, staff position and will be based from our client’s offices in Aberdeen City Centre. The position would suit an Accounting and/or Finance Graduate looking to pursue a career within Tax. Our client will provide support to obtain a professional tax qualification, as well as hybrid working and a very comprehensive benefits package.
The Opportunity
The Assistant Tax Advisor will be a training role with exposure to all areas of the tax function. Your studies will go along side on the job training, duties will include:
* Assisting with implementing the Group’s taxation strategy
* Assisting with monitoring and managing the UK’s effective tax rate
* Assisting with monitoring UK tax affairs
* Help maintain relationships with auditors and professional advisors
* Provide support to Finance, Legal, Commercial and Business in relation to material tax matters
* Help maintain relationships with UK tax authorities as appropriate
Background and experience
The successful candidate will have a degree in accounting and/or finance or a similar relevant subject. Placement or internship experience would be desired but isn’t essential. You will be keen to learn and develop within your career, have excellent attention to detail and be able to use initiative.
