LOCATION: Stroud
HOURS: Monday – Thursday 07.00 – 16.30 / Friday 07.00– 11.00 (40 hours)
START DATE: Immediate start.
PAY: Depending onexperience. Excellent rates of pay
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Permanent
Our client manufacturesbespoke kitchens and interiors. Using streamlined production methods andextensive experience they endeavor to provide quality cabinetry for any room. Theycreate projects for trade clients as well as their own ranges for directcustomers. The workshop is split into three main departments which all workclosely together.
Build – Creates frames, doors, drawer fronts,plinths, panels, mantles etc.
Finishing – Paints and applies finishes to projects.
Assembly – Creates carcasses, shelves etc. andbrings the whole project together ready for installation.
My client islooking for a cabinet maker of any experience level to work in the assemblydepartment. Full training and machinery inductions will be provided but a basicunderstanding of machinery used in this sector would be useful. The role wouldinitially be in the assembly department, but future training will be providedto enable you to move between departments to cover holidays etc.
Breaks – 15 minutes paid, taken between the hoursof 10:30 and 11:30. 30 minutes unpaid, taken between the hours of 12:30 and14:00. Most employees take 15 minutes at 11:00 and 30 minutes at 13:00. Thecompany has a break room with sofas, fridge, microwave, kettle, and coffeemachine.
Holidays – 28 Days are allocated per year, but it iscalculated hourly to allow flexibility when taking time off for appointmentsetc. Bank holidays are usually taken from this allocation but flexibility towork them can be negotiated if safe working practices allow it. They have aChristmas shut down every year which differs depending on which day Christmasfalls on, but is usually 1 – 2 weeks, this is also deducted from the yearlyallowance.
Overtime – Overtime paid at 1.33 of an employee’sbasic hourly rate provided the workshop needs the additional work doing. It isnever expected for an employee to do overtime but very occasionally it may beasked.
Pension – A workplace pension is provided after 3 months of employment .
Unpaid Time off – This is also available if production allows it.
Parking – We have onsite parking both in front of and behind our workshop butit is on a first come first served basis. We have yet to experience anyone notbeing able to park though.
