Swim England is the recognised national governing body for swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo in England. We help people learn how to swim, enjoy the water safely, and maximise their potential in aquatic sport at every level — from community participation to world-class performance.

We work with clubs, coaches, teachers and volunteers across the country to create safe, inclusive and inspiring aquatic environments. As a membership organisation and charity, we are committed to supporting the growth of our sports, promoting physical and mental wellbeing, and ensuring everybody has the opportunity to enjoy a lifelong love of the water.

About the Role

We’re looking for an analytical and commercially-minded Business Performance Manager to support informed decision-making across Swim England. You’ll collect, analyse and visualise performance data, identify trends, and present insight that enables senior leaders and departments to improve efficiency, productivity and commercial outcomes.

Working collaboratively across the business, you’ll diagnose process inefficiencies, build automation and scalability into solutions, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll also ensure the integrity of data sources and business intelligence visualisations, empowering teams with accurate, real-time reporting that supports strategic planning and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

- Work collaboratively with business areas to identify process inefficiencies or bottlenecks, making recommendations and implementing solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.

- Positively influence a culture of incremental, continuous improvement across the organisation.

- Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify where data analysis and insight can add value, developing a detailed understanding of performance, commercial drivers and reporting needs.

- Analyse complex performance data and translate findings into audience-relevant formats to support decision-making, risk management and business planning.

- Benchmark performance to identify opportunities and improve business outcomes.

- Empower decision-makers with accurate, real-time, actionable insights that enhance workforce efficiency, productivity and market positioning.

- Develop and maintain accurate data sources and Power BI dashboards, ensuring continued relevance and usability.

- Work with relevant project working groups to ensure programmes can drive business performance.

- Create and execute a plan to monitor performance against Swim England’s new Strategy.

- Keep industry and technical knowledge up to date and apply this to maximise opportunities for new ways of working.

Skills and Experience

Essential

- Proficient in business intelligence tools, technologies and systems (e.g. Power BI).

- Strong financial and commercial acumen.

- Ability to interpret, translate and communicate commercial performance to a diverse audience.

- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills at all levels.

- Complex data analysis skills and understanding of how insight should be applied to organisational benefit.

- Experience identifying, diagnosing and implementing business process improvements.

- A continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable

- Knowledge of the sport sector.
