What We Are Looking For...
Reporting to the Head of People Partnering & Talent, the Senior People Partners are responsible for delivering the people strategy and objectives through supporting, coaching and challenging the River Island Leadership team.
These commercial partners will be responsible for driving proactive people intervention across the organisation with a core focus on:
* Supporting business leaders in achieving their goals
* Attracting, developing and retaining talent
* Developing & executing functional people plans
* Driving a performance culture
* Sustainability and improvement
The relationship between these roles and the business are critical as is the ability to be hands on and deliver; these roles are about partnering and building relationships and driving change through challenging behaviours.
Job Description:
* Engage and support leaders as a trusted advisor and coach within the business to be accountable for driving high performing teams, and developing their people through clarity of leader expectations and what constitutes authentic and inspiring leadership
* Partner with People Centre of Excellence teams to enable policies and processes to align with business objectives and plans
* Provide a hands-on approach to plan, action, communicate and manage people and change initiatives
* Assist in delivering the alignment of people strategies with business priorities to enable business performance and the execution of talent strategies to achieve a highly capable and engaged workforce
* Ensure that all aspects of employee lifecycle are effective and in line with best practices - from onboarding, performance management, leadership development, learning development and employee enablement, through to separation and off boarding - ensuring processes are compliant, documented, implemented, and continuously improved upon
* Partner with leaders on talent review and metrics for bench strength, talent pipeline, talent succession and identification of development opportunities for high potentials
* Be a strong thought leader for strategic People initiatives, able to identify and analyse market trends and advise accordingly.
* Understand the learning and development needs of the organisation and partner with the L&D team to secure appropriate training to the Business.
* You will understand the core values of the organisation and lead and coach other team members as a high performance team.
* Plan and support the creation of a sustainable high performance culture for all Islanders
* Manage people data and analysis to enable strategic and commercial decisions
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop & execute functional People plan in line with overall Company plan
* Execute Company People Plan
* Employee engagement, talent management, and employee relations to maximise individual performance, effectively balance the needs of the individual and the organisation and manage risk
* Use people metric tools to design and drive monthly actions plans for the business
* Manage the people reporting to include highlighting business requirements for new reporting needs
* Contribute to the identification of talent gaps across the departments / business functions
* Functional Talent Development and Succession
* Conduct analysis of people data identifying trends and focus areas for the People Partner's
* Analysis of Exit Interview information, identifying trends and contributing to the development of remedial solutions
* Project manage individual and team projects
* Improve Employee Engagement levels to ensure top talent is retained and motivated
Skills & Behaviours
* A sound understanding and working knowledge of current legislative requirements
* Experience is needed in partnering a large team in fast paced, Retail space
* Experience coaching others to build capability and confidence in leading people
* Significant experience with business transformations and organisational change programs
* Proven ability to work effectively within fast-paced, demanding environments, managing and implementing a change agenda.
* You will have the ability to manage multiple priorities, liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and work collaboratively with the broader team
* Attention to detail to deliver high quality output
* Strong ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation
* A high level of integrity
* A down to earth, agile nature to adapt to a constantly changing environment while delivering outcomes
* The ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities, executing with excellence at all times
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong cross functional working relationships
* Ability to coach and influence at C-Suite and Director level
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly
* A positive and proactive outlook to changing requirements

This role is partnering teams in our Head Office so candidates need to be able to commute to our HQ on a daily basis.
