About the Role As the Funding and Development Officer, you'll play a vital role in identifying and securing funding and partnership opportunities to support our mission. You'll lead on researching prospects, drafting funding proposals, and supporting strategic growth. In addition, you'll provide high-quality coordination and administrative support to the Chief Executive and senior management team to help ensure effective governance and delivery. Key Responsibilities Prospect Research: Conduct detailed research into grants, funding streams, and partnership opportunities aligned with our strategic objectives. Funding Applications: Draft and submit compelling funding proposals, working closely with the Head of Business Development and CEO. Development Support: Contribute to strategic planning through insight gathering and managing a development activity pipeline. Executive Coordination: Support senior management and the Board through meeting coordination, diary support, document preparation, and minute-taking. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain high standards of communication with funders, partners, and stakeholders; represent the organisation professionally at meetings and events. Qualifications & Experience Essential: At least one year's experience of successful income generation through funding, grants, or partnerships. Strong organisational skills including experience coordinating meetings and preparing reports/documents. Demonstrable experience of developing and managing strategic relationships or partnerships. Desirable: Experience in the NGO or voluntary sector. Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills (minimum GCSE Grade C in English Language or equivalent). Strong ICT skills (Microsoft 365 Suite). Strong numerical and analytical skills (minimum GCSE Grade C in Mathematics or equivalent). Licence: Full current driving licence and/or access to a suitable mode of transport. Knowledge & Understanding Essential: Understanding of administrative processes and data protection regulations. Desirable: Familiarity with charity sector working practices. Personal Qualities Exceptionally organised and detail-oriented. Able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. A collaborative team player with initiative and drive. Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional and proactive approach. Additional Working Requirements Occasional travel within Northern Ireland. Flexibility to occasionally work outside core hours. Hours of Business Flexible hours between 8am - 6pm; core hours 10am - 4pm, Monday - Friday. Hybrid working: Minimum 2 days/week in Belfast office.
