Principal Systems Engineer
We’re working with a leading client in the development of high-speed, zero-emission vessels and propulsion systems, and they’re now looking to welcome a Principal Systems Engineer to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in Systems Engineering to play a key role in ensuring new products meet rigorous performance, safety, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Champion the development and maintenance of core systems engineering processes and capabilities across the organisation.
* Manage and engage with Systems Models, ensuring consistent generation, control, and linkage of systems artifacts across multiple projects.
* Collaborate with technical experts to deliver architectural designs for Energy Solution products that meet complex stakeholder needs.
* Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies where beneficial to the business.
* Create and maintain traceable systems documentation, including User, Product, and System Requirements Specifications.
* Lead and coordinate system requirement analysis activities such as Use Case analysis, functional analysis, and safety and robustness evaluations.
Qualifications
* A BSc or BEng in a relevant engineering field (e.g. Electrical, Electronic, Control, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering).
* 5+ years of experience in Systems or Control Engineering, ideally within electrification or e‑mobility technologies.
* Deep technical expertise in electrification systems, especially Lithium‑Ion Batteries, Battery Management Systems, and EV Charging Systems.
* Familiarity with structured development frameworks like INCOSE or ASPICE.
* Experience applying Functional Safety and/or Cybersecurity principles.
* Strong report writing skills with a clear, concise, and organised approach.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
