Depot Manager (Site-Based)
£45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
Location: Glasgow
The Opportunity
This is not your typical operations role. We're looking for a high‑calibre Depot Manager to take full ownership of a key site in Glasgow – driving performance, leading from the front, and embedding operational excellence day to day.
This is a hands‑on leadership position where you'll have the autonomy to shape how the depot runs, build a strong team culture, and continuously improve processes. If you enjoy making a tangible impact within a fast‑paced environment, this role offers both challenge and opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day running and performance of the Glasgow depot:
* Leading and managing the depot team to ensure smooth, efficient operations
* Overseeing warehouse, transport, yard, and administrative functions
* Ensuring high standards of service, accuracy, and on‑time delivery
* Monitoring and improving stock control, dispatch processes and workflow efficiency
* Delivering training, coaching and development for team members
* Reviewing operational processes – identifying improvements and implementing best practice
* Managing performance, addressing challenges and maintaining a positive working environment
* Ensuring compliance with company procedures, health & safety and operational standards
The Environment
You’ll be working within a fast‑paced, reactive, trade‑focused operation, where:
* Orders are placed late into the day for next‑day delivery
* Service, accuracy and responsiveness are critical
* The depot operates under consistent pressure to meet customer demand

* Is currently a Depot Manager (or similar) with strong operational credibility

You’ll Need
* Proven experience managing depot or logistics operations
* Strong leadership across multi‑functional teams (warehouse, transport, yard, admin)
* Solid understanding of stock control, dispatch and service delivery
* A hands‑on, adaptable and resilient approach
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
