Payroll Assistant – Centum Engineering Services

Contract: Permanent

Centum is an Irish Mechanical, Electrical & Civil Engineering company based in Toomebridge, Northern Ireland, operating since 2015 and employing circa 350 employees across Europe.


Purpose

The payroll assistant will be responsible for administering the monthly & biweekly payroll and associated tasks in a timely, accurate and confidential manner.


Key Requirements

* Passionate about delivering accurate and well analysed financial information and communicating this via excellent verbal and written communication.
* People orientated with a drive to maintain an inclusive and first-class working environment.
* A strong overall I.T. knowledge.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

* Liaising with the HR department to obtain necessary employee data for pay runs.
* Running payroll reports and validating information.
* Ensuring that all payrolls are processed within the required timeframe and liaising with other teams on matters relating to payroll.
* Preparation and submission of statutory returns to the relevant tax authorities.
* Processing important information, starters/leavers, sickness and all statutory deductions.
* Deal effectively with payroll queries from staff.
* Assist in maintaining financial information and systems.
* Any other duties as requested or required by the Managing Director.


Qualifications & Experience

* Minimum 1 year’s experience in a relevant payroll environment.
* Working knowledge of NI and ROI Payroll Legislation.
* Must have strong organisational skills and ability to work in fast paced environment.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise and multi-task.
* Proactive approach, open to change and developing new ways of working.
* Experience in Brightpay/Sage payroll.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical skills.
