Amentum is currently recruiting a Practitioner level Planning Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team. This team supports our key client, EDF Energy Nuclear Generation, with their nuclear fleet in the UK. The role is a vital part of our Project Management Resource team, which operates across various UK sites and stations. You will be based at EDF's Sizewell B location and support multiple projects within their UK-wide portfolio, focusing on nuclear defueling and decommissioning.

Planning & Consulting
1. The position reports to the client Project Controls Group Head, PPM, and/or Operations Manager. Responsibilities include developing and managing schedules that incorporate risk, change, resource requirements, and cost, in accordance with EDF Generation standards.
2. The Planning Engineer will create plans covering the full project lifecycle, including development and design within the Nuclear Defueling team, supporting the delivery of the client's ALR2 commitments.
3. All team members should have proven experience working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture.
4. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to develop relationships, maintain effective networks, and focus on results with a team-centered approach.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
2. Experience across the entire project and programme lifecycle, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning processes.
3. Proficiency with the latest version of Primavera.
4. Ability to develop, control, monitor, analyze, and report on schedule-related aspects for designated projects within a portfolio.
5. Experience establishing and monitoring cost and resource-loaded baseline plans in line with Programme Office processes.
6. Capability to capture project costs and resources to determine expenditure timing and total project budget.
7. Skill in establishing robust Work Breakdown Structures and Project Control Structures aligned with project scope and company procedures.
8. Leadership skills to ensure project plans are comprehensive, fit for purpose, and achievable.
9. Experience integrating third-party schedules and data into overall project plans.
10. Excellent communication skills at all management levels and ability to produce regular reports with insightful analysis.
