About the Role
Our client, a specialist glazing company based in Stevenage, is seeking a motivated and detail‑driven Junior Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-stage construction knowledge who is eager to develop their estimating skills within a technical, fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Analysis — Extract relevant information, quantities, and measurements from tender documentation.
2. Logikal Software Use — Assist in producing accurate estimates using Logikal; previous experience is highly desirable.
3. CAD Interpretation — Read and interpret CAD drawings, ensuring accurate dimensions and specifications are captured.
4. Cost Estimation — Support the preparation of quotations, cost breakdowns, and material take‑offs.
5. Collaboration — Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and the design team to ensure accuracy and consistency.
6. Documentation — Maintain organised records of estimates, revisions, and supporting documents.
Essential Skills & Experience
7. Construction Knowledge — Understanding of construction processes, ideally within glazing, façades, or similar technical sectors.
8. Logikal Experience — Prior use of Logikal is a strong advantage.
9. CAD Skills — Ability to read and dimension CAD drawings (full CAD proficiency beneficial but not essential).
10. Attention to Detail — Strong accuracy when reviewing technical documents and measurements.
11. Numerical Ability — Comfortable working with measurements, calculations, and technical data.
12. Communication — Clear written and verbal communication skills.
13. IT Literacy — Competent with Microsoft Office and industry‑specific software.
Desirable
14. Experience in the glazing, aluminium systems, or construction products sector.
15. Understanding of project lifecycles, installation processes, or fabrication workflows.
16. Exposure to estimating, procurement, or technical administration.
