Senior Analyst – Insurance Pricing

Our Pricing Team is involved in a wide variety of projects, including pricing large and complicated accounts, developing and maintaining pricing tools and broader exercises such as portfolio management and planning. Our close involvement in the markets we support helps us influence and shape the performance of the business.This role will be working within the London Wholesale Property Pricing team.
You will work closely with Underwriters, management and senior actuarial colleagues as part of a global team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Individual account pricing - calculating technical premiums and other key metrics and communicating the results to underwriters.
2. Creating new or updating existing rating models (working with Data, Pricing & Analytics).
3. Assessing the accuracy of assumptions within pricing models and updating parameters.
4. Providing support and challenges to Actuarial Financial Reporting on reserving assumptions, methodology and results to help ensure the accuracy of reserves.
5. Designing and producing management information to assist underwriters and the management team.
6. Assisting Actuarial leads with producing recommendations for the base loss ratio as part of the annual strategic planning exercise.
7. Auditing and, where appropriate, elaborating the rate change and profitability metrics being recorded.
8. Assisting actuarial leads with producing underwriting risk recommendations for the parameterisation of the Capital model, and providing data to assess the effectiveness of outwards reinsurance purchases.
You will report to the Head of London Wholesale Property Pricing.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
9. Previous experience of working in an actuarial role. Experience of non-life insurance pricing, preferably from a Lloyd’s market background, will be particularly beneficial.
10. Good written and verbal communication skills.
11. Ability and willingness to collaborate across teams.
12. Enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and develop.
13. Experience of coding in R or other statistical programming languages will be beneficial.
14. Making good progress through early stages of actuarial exams with the intention to qualify.
