About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join a leading engineering and energy services organisation in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with strong experience in contract management, project delivery, or commercial management within the engineering, construction, or energy sector.
You’ll be responsible for managing contracts across the full project lifecycle – from tender review to closeout – ensuring that all contractual, commercial, and legal obligations are fully met while protecting company interests.
Key Responsibilities

Manage all contractual and commercial aspects of engineering and energy projects.
*
Review ITTs, terms & conditions, and identify potential risks or commercial issues.
*
Lead contract negotiations, manage change orders, and support claims and dispute resolution.
*
Advise project teams on contractual obligations, ensuring compliance and traceability.
*
Support procurement by flowing down main contract terms to subcontractors and suppliers.
*
Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution.
*
Document all contractual decisions, ensuring complete and accurate records.
*
Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned in contract management processes.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
*
Proven experience as a Contract Manager, Commercial Manager, or Project Contracts Specialist.
*
Strong understanding of contract law and experience with NEC3, NEC4, or FIDIC contract forms.
*
Background in engineering, energy, construction, or industrial projects.
*
Excellent negotiation, risk management, and stakeholder management skills.
*
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
*
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Desirable:
*
Experience in nuclear or heavy industrial sectors.
*
Fluency in French would be an advantage.
