Job Title: Lead Engineer
Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President
Location: Birmingham
As part of the Automation Platforms function, this engineer role in the Event Management team will ensure we maintain our environments to meet new requirements related to risk and stability. You will join an existing team but will be positioned to lead on key deliverables that will enhance stability and functionality across Event Management tooling.
This is a full-stack developer role. The successful candidate will analyze large quantities of raw data and transform it into meaningful insights to streamline and improve processes organization-wide. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in a team making significant impacts through Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Automation.

Your key responsibilities
* Develop Python-based microservices and APIs
* Create interactive dashboards combining visuals with real-time data using JavaScript and React
* Deploy Python microservices and JavaScript/React web applications onto cloud platforms like OpenShift and GCP
* Analyze large data sets from various structured and unstructured sources
* Identify trends and patterns through data analysis and statistics
* Translate technical data into understandable language and provide recommendations to stakeholders
Your skills and experience
* Extensive experience with Python and SQL, including microservice architectures and APIs
* Proficiency in JavaScript and React, with experience in creating dashboards and visualizations
* Experience in building ETL pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
* Comfortable working within Agile Software Development Life Cycle processes
* Excellent problem-solving and collaborative communication skills
