People and Culture Advisor

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team. This pivotal role provides expert guidance and hands-on support across all areas of HR, with a strong focus on policy, performance management, and enabling our managers to lead effectively.

The vacancy job specific requirements we would expect you to demonstrate are:

·CIPD level 5

·Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role

The vacancy key responsibilities are:

* Recruitment & Onboarding: Partner with recruitment agencies, refine hiring processes, and deliver interview training for managers.
* Learning & Development: Coordinate external training, deliver internal training, and support management capability development.
* Culture & Engagement: Champion our organisational values, lead culture audits, organise engagement activities, and respond to emerging culture needs.
* Performance & Employee Relations: Advise managers on performance processes, lead grievance and disciplinary cases, and handle complex HR issues.
* Policy & Compliance: Maintain and update HR policies, ensure fair application, deliver policy training, and stay abreast of employment law changes.
* Data & Reporting: Support annual surveys, and compile people metrics for strategic reporting.
* Internal Communications: Drive collaboration and support communication improvements across teams.
* Wellbeing & Inclusion: Support wellbeing initiatives, manage EAP and occupational health matters, and oversee health-related casework.
* Payroll & Absence Management: Review payroll data, manage sickness absence processes, and contribute to reducing absence trends.
* Sustainability & B-Corp: Support B-Corp assessments and actively participate in sustainability working groups.
* Collaboration & Influence: Chair and contribute to cross-functional working groups to support strategic people initiatives.

Hours of work: Part time, 3 days per week.

Location: Primarily based in Jesmond with presence at Chester Le Street and Teesside.
