1:1 Tuition Role – Qualified Teachers (QTS) – Chorlton (M21)
Step away from the classroom while continuing to make a meaningful impact on young lives.
Are you a qualified teacher looking for a more flexible, personalised, and rewarding way to support learners? We’re currently seeking QTS educators in the Chorlton (M21) area to deliver 1:1 tuition for pupils who are not currently attending mainstream education.
These learners may be out of school due to anxiety, SEND, behavioural needs or medical reasons – and your experience in the classroom makes you ideally placed to support them with structure, encouragement, and tailored teaching.
Tuition is delivered face-to-face, either in the pupil’s home or a local community setting such as a library. Sessions are focused on rebuilding confidence and helping pupils re-engage with learning at a level and pace that’s right for them.
The role at a glance:
Delivering 1:1 tuition in English and Maths, occasionally other subjects depending on need
Teaching primary-level content, even for secondary-age pupils, where appropriate
Planning and adapting sessions to individual learning styles and emotional needs
Supporting pupils with a wide range of barriers to education, including SEN and SEMH
Maintaining brief progress notes to share with local authorities or parents
What we’re looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – recently retired, transitioning out of the classroom, or seeking more flexible hours
Strong classroom practice and the ability to differentiate teaching based on individual needs
Confident working independently with pupils on a 1:1 basis
Comfortable supporting learners with anxiety, gaps in education, or reduced confidence
Willing to travel within the Chorlton area for in-person tuition
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
What you’ll receive:
Competitive hourly pay: £25–£30, depending on experience
Flexible hours during the school day (8am–4pm), Monday to Friday
Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella company or admin deductions
A supportive consultant to match you with suitable pupils
Opportunities for additional CPD and training if desired
A highly rewarding role where you can see the impact of your teaching first-hand
