MWH Treatment is seeking a digitally passionate individual with a creative mindset and the ability to influence change. The candidate should have an appreciation of 4D modelling, digital rehearsal facilitation, and strong interpersonal skills. The role involves working with the CMDP Region, either in Falmer or Chatham, to bridge the gap between engineering and delivery functions through collaborative practices. Support will be provided by a community of 4D Planners and Digital specialists, with opportunities for training across digital delivery tools.
Implementing Digital Delivery as business as usual is a strategic priority for MWH Treatment. Core tools include Delivery & Digital Strategy, Visual Project Initiation (including Digital Survey), Data-rich 3D models, Collaborative Reviews, Digital Rehearsals, Digital Field Management, and enhancing Data & Analytics capabilities. The role of a 4D Planner is crucial to support regional teams in integrating these digital tools into their processes.
The role encompasses two main aspects:
Rehearsal Technician (approximately 70% of the time)
The individual will develop 4D models using Synchro for digital rehearsals, linking models and programmes to provide visualisations. Responsibilities include ensuring the programme accurately reflects the sequence of works, highlighting physical and time clashes, and identifying potential health and safety issues. Visualisation outputs will be used for weekly lookaheads, team briefings, and detailed overviews for client engagement. A good understanding of construction methodology, logistics, planning techniques, and data processes is essential.
This will be a significant part of the role, with support available from the Digital Core Team during peak times. The 4D planner will work closely with the lead project planner to maintain model accuracy.
Rehearsal Facilitator (approximately 30% of the time)
The individual will act as a rehearsal facilitator both in office and on-site environments. Training will be provided. The facilitator’s role is to clarify delivery intent and stakeholder interfaces. Digital rehearsals will be conducted virtually and face-to-face, requiring travel to construction sites. Comfort with travelling is necessary.
Requirements include the capability to fulfill the role, with essential skills in 4D Synchro software and planning background. An understanding of critical path management, scheduling, and control is necessary. Good communication and facilitation skills are required, along with the ability to work with delivery teams to develop practical applications. The candidate should proactively manage system issues, seek efficiencies, and explore synergies in regional processes and system functionalities.
