Responsibilities
* Support individual service users with learning disabilities, including those with challenging behaviour, to undertake daily activities and functions.
* Help service users attain personal independence, choice and responsibility in a homely environment, demonstrating acceptance and tolerance.
* Assist in integrating individuals into the local community, improving quality of life and developing activities; support a fulfilling home life by maintaining relationships, promoting friendship and encouraging personal development based on each person’s needs.
* Be a keen observer with a good understanding of care practices; assist Area/Home or Deputy Manager to develop and initiate personalised care plans and risk assessments, ensuring a personalised package of care.
* Support site management and contribute to the growth of the staff team; mentor, supervise, audit and review staff performance, paperwork and on-site practices in line with company policies.
* Communicate effectively, listen, problem-solve and ensure staff and service users are heard; apply best practice in health and social care and align with legislative frameworks to maintain high standards in person-centred care focused on dignity and integrity.
Qualifications / Skills
* Experience working with people with learning disabilities; ability to support individuals with diverse needs and challenging behaviour.
* Strong communication, observation and problem-solving skills; ability to work within a team and follow care plans and policies.
