DN Colleges are recruiting a Safeguarding Caseworker to support students and apprentices within the context of Child Protection, Safeguarding, and Prevent. You will act as a central point of contact for internal and external individuals and agencies, providing advice, support, and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Students and Apprentices: Provide support across the college community in line with Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Prevent legislation.
2. Manage Referrals: Handle referrals to external services as required and maintain accurate records.
3. Collaborate with Agencies: Attend and contribute to external agency meetings and work with local safeguarding partnerships.
4. Training and Development: Support and deliver CPD within the context of Child Protection, Safeguarding, and Prevent. Participate in personal development and training.
5. Qualifications: Degree-level qualification or equivalent, or significant recent experience specific to the role.
6. Experience: Working in an educational setting or similar position, maintaining accurate records, and managing complex referrals.
7. Skills: Proficient in Office 365, understanding of statutory agencies’ roles, and knowledge of local and national services for safeguarding.
8. Personal Qualities: Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to student success, ability to work autonomously, and commitment to continuous professional development.

Let’s Teach Programme
This programme supports new teaching staff with college systems and key teaching areas, including lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new staff member is assigned a Lead Practitioner for ongoing support.
Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme connects experienced teachers to share best practices and support risk-taking in teaching. Teachers volunteer for this one-year programme, working with the Learning Enhancement Team and documenting their experimentation in a journal.
