Role Overview
This is an exciting trainee role for an enthusiastic and hands-on individual to start a career in print and production finishing. You will be trained to accurately produce and finish high-quality work, ensuring every job meets client specifications.
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day finishing within the department, learning to uphold company quality control practices, and ensuring a high standard of work. Full training will be provided on our range of machinery, including the Jet lam 2000 laminator, Pro62 laminator, Miller weld master, Fiab HF Welder, Fotoba 3.2 and 1.6, and the Kongsberg XP cutting machines.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of experienced staff, your core responsibilities will include:
* Learning to maintain and process work according to the production schedule.
* Assisting in quality checks to ensure work meets specifications and uses the correct materials.
* Collecting and processing finished work.
* Learning to operate various machines for tasks such as:
* Laminating different types of media.
* Edge wrapping and mounting to various substrates.
* Welding substrates (e.g., using Kedar).
* Cutting materials.
* Developing skills in reading technical specifications (like CAD laydowns) and performing basic checks on the cutting machines.
* Supporting the QC (Quality Control) process.
* Completing required paperwork and updates.
* Notifying a manager promptly when a major issue is encountered.
* Learning to perform basic problem-solving to keep work flowing smoothly.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy work area and assisting with basic machine maintenance as trained.
