Job Description:
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide specialist support in a Primary Pupil Referral Unit in Longsight, Manchester.
Main Duties
* Support for pupils:
o Work with groups of children under the supervision of the teacher.
o Receive and supervise pupils, including those excluded or not on a normal timetable.
o Attend to pupils' personal needs, including minor first aid, and provide advice to support their pastoral, social, health, hygiene, and welfare development.
o Participate in comprehensive assessment of pupils.
o Assist in developing and implementing individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans.
o Support pupils with special needs.
o Establish productive relationships with pupils, serving as a positive role model and responding to individual needs.
o Develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements and support distressed pupils.
Support for Teachers
* Assist in maintaining a safe classroom and outdoor environment, including checking materials and equipment and implementing risk assessments.
* Prepare classroom for lessons, including display setup and cleanup.
* Provide specialist advice and guidance as required.
* Liaise with therapists, medical staff, and other personnel to coordinate and plan programmes, integrating advice into ILPs.
* Liaise with other schools and bodies for information gathering.

* Full-time: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Mon–Fri (term time only)
Previous Experience / Requirements
* Experience working with children/young people with SEND, behavioural difficulties, or complex learning needs.
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience.
* Ability to use relevant technology (e.g., photocopier).
* Knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum and support services.
Eligibility
* Right to Work in the UK.
* Enhanced child barred list DBS registered or willing to apply.
* Two professional child-related references.
