Hardware Support Engineer – Newbury, United Kingdom
* Support the emulation of products from installation to service retirement.
* Install, diagnose, repair hardware and provide related support services.
* Maintain system uptime and improve reliability with all available resources.
* Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Research and Development, Sales and Application Engineering teams in a global environment.
* Perform site surveys, unboxing, assembling hardware stack, loading software and initial checkout testing.
* Travel to customer sites on a regular basis and perform basic IT systems administration when required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in electronics or software engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Prior experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronics hardware.
* Experience with Linux OS and Microsoft Windows.
* Experience with high‑speed serial data technology and systems.
* Strong technical communication and analytical problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to follow technical directions verbally and in writing.
* Experience handling electronics parts with proper grounding procedures.
* Experience working directly with customers.
* Knowledge of server and network technology highly desired.
* Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel on short notice.
* Ability to work in remote customer locations and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Physical strength: ability to move 50 to 70 pounds and work long hours in a lab/datacenter environment.
