The Strategy Manager sits within the Strategy team, reporting to the Strategy and Policy Director with the mandate to support the Executive Leadership Team to shape and deliver the organisation’s long‑term corporate strategy.
Key accountabilities
* Design and lead the delivery of projects to implement components of NESO’s Corporate Strategy.
* Communicate and embed strategy across the organisation with innovative approaches.
* Lead projects to improve organisational effectiveness in line with the Corporate Strategy.
* Author products that help the leadership team understand long‑term strategic direction.
* Coach junior team members in strategy methodologies.
* Convene managers and technical leads to resolve trade‑offs between stakeholders.
About you
Experience in developing and embedding strategies, whether as a strategist, strategy consultant, or equivalent. Background in energy not required; welcome applications from other sectors. Public‑sector strategy experience beneficial but not mandatory.

* Strategy leadership: Demonstrable experience leading strategy projects from inception to completion.
* Curiosity and critical thinking: Ability to identify long‑term impact factors and synthesize complex issues.
* Communicating with impact: Proven ability to communicate persuasively in oral and written formats.
* Organisational improvement: Experience designing transformation of operating model components.
* Project management: Ability to plan, deliver manage, risk manage and evaluate strategy projects.
* Building trusting relationships: Able to build relationships quickly with senior stakeholders.
* Developing talent: Track record of coaching and developing high‑performing teams.
