Golden Care Living Children’s home in Ilford is recruiting for Residential Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, caring, and passionate people to join our support team. In this role, you will support our young people and provide compassionate care, making a difference in their lives. The applicant must be at least 21 years old.

About You
* Ability to work some nights
* DBS check issued in the last 3 months or willingness to have one with the online update service (Essential)
* NVQ Level 3 or working towards it (or willingness and ability to work towards one)
* Residential Children’s Support Worker role will involve supporting children aged 8-17 in full-time residential care during nights and day shifts
Responsibilities
* Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, and confidentiality; report concerns appropriately
* Set boundaries for children and young people displaying challenging or emotional behaviour; develop a relationship built on mutual trust
* Contribute to the physical, social, and emotional well-being; provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere
* Use behaviour management strategies effectively and in line with home policies to contribute to a purposeful environment
* Ensure young people’s paperwork is completed fully and accurately, including engagement, mood, conversations, thoughts, and feelings
* Maintain records accurately and reflectively
* Prepare meals, travel training, and domestic duties as part of independence programmes
* Support children aged 8-17 in full-time residential care during day and night shifts
Person Specification (Essential)
* Evidence of successfully working with young people
* Awareness of safeguarding young people
* Risk assessments/Care Plans/Daily Logging/Use of IT
* Ability to work as part of a team; empower and encourage young people to develop life and independence skills
* Ability to deal with challenging or aggressive behaviour; high resilience; empathy, patience, and understanding for vulnerable individuals
* Good communication and listening skills
* Ensure documentation is complete and accurate for each young person

* Schedule: 8 AM – 8 PM; 8 PM – 8 AM
* Salary: from £14 hourly
