Join our dynamic Children’s Custom and Partnerships Sales team as a Key Account Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to bring your energy and creativity, driving our success.
The team manages a broad range of accounts, from value retailers like ALDI, B&M, Costco, and Home Bargain to high street retailers such as The Little White Company, Smyths Toys, and The Works; as well as subscription boxes, gift, and bargain wholesalers. They also handle commercial brand partnerships with clients like McDonald’s and Premier Foods.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues across departments—editorial, design, production, operations, and finance—and share market insights and sales analysis with the wider team.
Key responsibilities:
* Present key titles to the mass market and secure support for relevant titles.
* Build and maintain excellent relationships with buyers and work closely with them to launch major authors in the UK.
* Prepare for customer meetings, complete title information grids, and build PowerPoint presentations.
* Drive profitable sales to meet divisional budget and growth targets.
* Feed market knowledge back into the division and influence strategy with stakeholders.
* Collaborate across sales, marketing, publicity, and editorial teams to maximize sales opportunities and connect readers with our authors and brands.
* Report and analyze sales, contributing to divisional meetings.
What you’ll bring:
* Proven experience in sales or a similar role managing customer relationships and accounts, preferably in retail or publishing.
* Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal retail space for our books.
* Genuine passion for children’s books and sales, advocating for the children’s division.
* Excellent communication and persuasion skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and inform decisions.
* Attention to detail and experience with physical supply chains is advantageous.
* Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and initiative.

Salary ranges from £37,000 to £42,000 depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits.
