Wood is currently looking for a Human Factors Specialist to join our System Integration (SI) team within out Digital Consulting business supporting across our UK projects.
This role is available on a hybrid basis with Tuesday's and Wednesday to be in one of the following hub office locations: Aberdeen, Glasgow or Staines.
Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role
The Human Factors Specialist will provide Human Factors responsibility to ensure project compliance with client and Wood specifications, applicable code requirements, and national/international standards.

Within SI, we are architecting our clients' digital ecosystems to be inherently safe, cybersecure and operable. Within our teams we integrate client source systems across their IT, Operational Technology (OT) environments, securely pushing OT data into IT systems as a foundation for transformation.

Expected:
9. Degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or other relevant science or engineering discipline with demonstrable experience.
10. Relevant experience, within the oil & gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure sectors.
11. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to manage multiple projects running concurrently.
12. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in human factors and ergonomics
13. Strong understanding of cognitive and physical human capabilities
14. Strong understanding of human-centred design principles
15. Understanding of commercial aspects as related to projects and operations.
16. Excellent communication abilities, with enthusiasm and diplomacy in interactions.
17. Inquisitive, well organised, and have a keen eye for detail
18. Ability to work effectively in an integrated team environment, supporting colleagues and fostering trust and respect within the team.
19. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate ergonomic risks.
20. Familiarity with industry guidelines, standards, and regulations related to human factors engineering and ergonomics, such as Report OGP 454, ISO 9241, ISO 11064, EEMUA 191, EEMUA 203,BS EN 6268 etc
Desirable:
21. Registered (Chartered) Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
22. Experience in designing user interfaces, controls, and displays that maximise user performance and satisfaction.
23. Experience in brownfield upgrades/replacement of automation and control systems projects
