Type: Full-time, office-based | Monday to Friday, 09:00am to 5:30pm 2fawcett Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing and well-established accountancy practice in Birmingham to recruit an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper. Bookkeeper Responsibilities: Maintain bookkeeping records for multiple clients using accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) Process and reconcile purchase and sales invoices, receipts, and payments Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare and submit VAT returns (monthly and quarterly) Liaise with internal and external stakeholders Communicate directly with clients to request records, resolve queries, and provide bookkeeping support Process weekly and monthly payroll for clients, including RTI submissions, pension contributions, and payslip generation Support accountants with month-end and year-end duties as required The Person: AAT Level 3 qualified or currently studying (minimum requirement) Previous experience in an accounts role; applicants from both practice and industry are welcome Proficient in accounting systems such as Xero or QuickBooks ( highly desirable ) Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Minimum grade in Maths and English to be 6 and above Strong analytical and numerical skills
