Job Overview:
Baxter's are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate would join the engineering team working Monday to Friday on an early / backshift rotation basis, with exact details to be agreed.
The successful Candidate will provide Emergency and Planned Maintenance cover and Continuous Improvement works within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilites:
· To ensure maintenance activity is carried out on all plant and services to support production requirements.
· To solve problems in a safe, compliant and logical manner.
· Delivery of Continuous Improvement projects across the site to improve asset availability and reliability while driving down engineering cost.
· To provide support to the operations team in a proactive manner to improve asset availability.
· To reduce downtime through use of best-in-class practices and techniques.
· Ensure all work is undertaken and equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient manner, following necessary standards and guidelines.
· Drive the work quality from the department through the principles of Right First Time.
· Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular inspections of equipment and systems to ensure they're in good working condition, developing and implementing maintenance plans to prevent equipment breakdowns.
· Emergency Maintenance: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and other systems as needed in a safe and compliant manner.
· Compliance: Ensuring all equipment and procedures comply with health and safety and food safety regulations.
· Documentation: Ensure that all work carried out on a production asset has a detailed work order to support it within the CMMS system.
· Training: Providing training and support to junior maintenance staff while being accountable for your own learning. Support the operator asset care program to improve reliability and up-skill the operations team.
· Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluating and improving maintenance processes and procedures.
· Be accountable for your own actions and standards within the engineering workshops and food production areas.
Knowledge and skills required:
· Mechanical & Electrical Systems: Deep understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems to handle a variety of maintenance tasks.
· Hydraulics & Pneumatics: A good understanding ofhydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred. .
· Health & Safety Regulations: Essential knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
· Diagnostic & Problem-Solving: Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve issues.
· Preventive Maintenance: Ability to develop and implement preventative maintenance plans.
· Technical Documentation: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
· Strong Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and document maintenance activities
· Continuous Improvement: A proactive approach in seeking opportunities for process improvements and efficiency
Qualifications and training required:
· Engineering Certifications:
Engineering apprenticeship or relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, or other engineering fields. Electrical bias preferred.
· Additional Certifications:
17th/18th Edition electrical certifications would be advantageous.
· Previous experience required:
+5years post apprenticeship experience with Manufacturing specific experience preferred. Food manufacture experience and knowledge of steam production would be beneficial
