We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable employer for the role of Workshop Manager at their historic car workshop in Hampshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader to oversee a team dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of classic vehicles. The Workshop Manager role offers a basic salary of £55,000 per annum, which is negotiable depending on experience, along with private medical and dental insurance and standard weekday hours, providing a great work-life balance.

Duties of the Workshop Manager include:
7. Managing a team of skilled mechanics, engine builders, and apprentices
8. Planning and overseeing daily workshop activities and projects
9. Monitoring progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure timely delivery
10. Delegating work effectively and supporting staff with technical issues
11. Maintaining high standards of quality control and safety
12. Liaising with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders through regular communication
13. Developing strategies to expand service offerings and enhance workshop reputation
Candidate requirements:
14. Proven experience in automotive workshop management, ideally with a focus on classic or historic cars
15. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
16. Excellent project management skills, capable of multitasking and prioritising
17. Good technical knowledge of mechanics and restoration processes
18. Effective communication skills for client relations and team coordination
19. Experience with managing workflows
20. An interest or background in classic cars, restoration, or automotive heritage is desirable
This role is not hands-on but involves overseeing complex projects and ensuring quality standards are met. Candidates with experience managing large workshops or overseeing classic car restorations will be highly considered.
