Join Our Team as a Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker!
Salary: £27,518.40 per annum, with opportunities for overtime earnings.
Location: Guildford, Surrey
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Specific Hours: Approx. 40 hours per week, from 10 PM to 9 AM, working five nights on and five nights off.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
* Work a rota of 55 hours per week, with a schedule of 5 nights on and 5 nights off. Flexibility may be required during times of illness or crisis.
* Promote the welfare of children as outlined in the Children Act 1989.
* Attend weekly staff meetings and supervision sessions (1½ hours) when not on waking-night duty.
* Participate in required training sessions.
* Join the young people on their summer holiday for a week of fun and bonding.
* Arrive early to prepare for your shift, review the handover book, and gather essential information from the staff team.
* Understand the feelings and needs of the young people to help assess and develop strategies for their ongoing support.
* Provide a consistent approach to settling young people at bedtime.
* Encourage good hygiene practices, including morning and evening routines.
* Record any disturbances throughout the night and communicate these to the sleeping-in staff or senior on shift.
* Maintain accurate records in the Daily Register and Fridge/Freezer logs.
* Monitor the young people throughout the night, documenting their movements in the diary/night log.
* Conduct a live fire alarm test weekly and log the results.
* Complete nightly and weekly task sheets accurately.
* Set up and clear away the breakfast table, promoting healthy eating habits.
* Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by your line manager.
* Prioritize the safety and security of the young people above all other tasks.
