Aboutthe role
As an experiencedprocurement professional, you will thrive in a busy commercial environment.You'll build meaningful and strong relationships with internal and externalstakeholders to drive procurement excellence at every stage of theprocess.
Reporting directly to the Procurement Lead, you’ll be part ofthe successful delivery of the overall procurement strategy forDrax.
Day-to-day you'll be responsiblefor all aspects of the Source to Contract cycle across our ProfessionalServices suppliers including the well-known consultancy firms. Spend inthis category is likely to be more than £25m and presents a unique opportunityto work closely with Drax senior leaders and ExCom who sponsor a number ofthese important supplier relationships.
You’ll play a key role in thedevelopment and implementation of sourcing strategies to maximise value whilstensuring the right level of governance is applied. You’ll also provide day today procurement guidance and advice to other team members.
Building new relationships andworking with a wide range of internal customers will be the key to success inthis role. You’ll work closely with the wider procurement team, to ensurecontinuous improvement and best practice is shared throughout the team tooptimise performance.
About you
You’ll already have strong technical procurement skills linked with an abilityto drive best practice. Ideally you’ll also have experience in creating andexecuting a successful category strategy for professional services in a complex,global, multisite organisation.
You’llalso demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, andthe ability to implement opportunities for innovation. You’ll be comfortablein proactively challenging stakeholders and demand, while providing aprompt, efficient and personalised service to internal customers at all levels.This is imperative, to ensure that customer needs are met, and productiverelationships are built and maintained. You should also be effective inensuring departmental policies and processes are communicated andfollowed.
It is key that you’re a self-starter with a ‘can do/will do’ attitude who hasthe energy, drive and commitment to make things happen and the ability to workcollaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment. The ability toidentify key opportunities for Procurement support and prioritise workloadeffectively is essential.
