We are looking for a GP at any stage of their career to join our team at Bersted Green Surgery.
4 - 8 sessions per week, days to be discussed.
15 minute appointments. Standard clinic is 13 patients per session, with a mix of telephone and face to face appointments.
3 GP Partners, 5 salaried GPs. Supported by a friendly team of Paramedics, Practice Nurses, Pharmacy Team, Care coordinators, Mental Health Social Prescriber, First Contact Physiotherapist, Youth Emotional Support Workers.
Majority of home visits covered by the Paramedic Team.

You will be expected to undertake all the normal dutiesand responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Duty sessions shared out between all Doctors .

Job responsibilities
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
- Undertaking a variety of duties includingsurgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patientsat home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries,paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the health care needs of patientswith undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors andearly signs of illness.
- In consultation with patients and in line withcurrent Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans forhealth.
- Providing counselling and health education.
- Referring to other care providers asappropriate.
- Recording clear and contemporaneousconsultation notes to agreed standards.
- Collecting data for audit purposes andcomplying with QOF requirements.
- Delivering enhanced services.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acuteand repeat prescriptions.
- Prescribing in accordance with the Practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinicallyappropriate
- Ingeneral the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal dutiesand responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Person Specification
Experience
* We are happy to support a GP at any stage of their career, including newly qualified.
* We are also able to support those requiring a Certificate of Sponsorship.
Qualifications
* Qualified GP
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP, MRCGP.
* Registered with the GP performers list.
