Due to the growth of our organisation across services, SiXworks requires a Major Incident and Change Manager to support across all projects and programmes. This role will ensure that change is managed proactively as well as taking ownership of all major incidents. Ensuring the timely release of communications to key stakeholders is a key part of the role, requiring an organised and adaptable individual who can confidently lead teams in times of urgency. The Major Incident and Change Manager will: Operate within an ITIL best practice approach to support the growth of ITSM across the organisation. Work in conjunction with the Engineering teams to ensure the resolution of incidents and proactive planning for all change. Engage with the Engineering teams to ensure the development, delivery and management of key communications for all Major Incidents and Change. Through work across Major Incident and Change, identify and drive the development and implementation of process and service improvements across the organisation. Responsibilities of the role: Major Incident Responsible for ensuring the structured progression and resolution of all high-severity major incidents in line with the agreed Major Incident Management Process Manage rapid response to major incidents and problems, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to investigate and resolve them with minimal downtime to systems and services Ability to motivate, influence and support the response team to deliver rapid response to major incidents as they occur Ensure effective investigation of all incidents in line with service level agreements, providing a high level of customer contact / communication for critical incidents Conduct post incident review meetings Own the investigation of resolved critical incidents to determine root cause Provision of Major Incident reports to customers and the business Track and report on the progress of post-incident actions Train and enable for deputization during absence or concurrently running incidents. Change Manage the regular Change Advisory Boards across the organisation in accordance with the Change Enablement Process. Ensure risk and impact assessments are performed for each change along with mandatory approvals prior to presentation at CAB. Prioritise changes as necessary and maintain a change schedule. Ensure changes are communicated to key stakeholders and the change schedule is published to support smooth implementation. Maintain accurate records of changes and ensure the CMDB are updated to reflect the current state of services. Run regular change communication and training across functions to encourage identification of change in accordance with the change process. Maintain and update the change enablement process as required. Manage business communications for IT change activity outside of core hours Where necessary, support the functional testing of IT change activity outside of core hours Support the wider team with IT Operations activities as required.
