About the role
To act in the capacity of a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) up to 33kV in accordance with the electricity supply industry Model Distribution Safety Rules (MDSR).
Due to a recent contract award, we are looking to expand our team. Location of the successful candidate is flexible, with the successful candidate being based in or around the West Midlands.
Responsible for electrical safety management for projects, ensuring compliance with asset owner standards. The Senior Authorised Person may also manage projects to ensure their safe and timely delivery.
As a Senior Authorised Person, you will:
* Manage projects to the highest safety standards - zero harm.
* Ensure site safety, work quality, and compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Manage projects to ensure safety, network security, and environmental standards.
* Develop relationships with clients, service providers, architects, consultants, and end customers to increase sales and repeat business.
* Design and deliver full project management solutions to ensure value for money.
* Deliver projects on safety, quality, performance, and cost targets.
* Act as the site management interface, ensuring resolution of site issues and project success.
* Maintain active involvement in customer service and customer-facing initiatives.
* Report on project progress, costs, and variations throughout the project lifecycle.
* Manage directly employed staff involved in projects, ensuring effective utilization.
About you
Qualifications
* Minimum ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent - essential.
* Pre-existing authorisation to work for Midlands distribution network operator (NGED) - desirable.
* Full UK driving license - essential.
Knowledge & Experience
* Distribution Network experience within the Electrical Supply Industry.
* Ability to apply Distribution Safety Rules, safety procedures, and codes of practice in compliance with health & safety legislation.
* Familiarity with network diagram software.
* Customer awareness and understanding of DNO client expectations.
* Knowledge of electrical project requirements and procedures.
* Proven ability to deliver projects within time, cost, quality, and safety parameters.
* Understanding of asset owner interfaces and network attributes.
