We are looking for three Teaching Assistants for our Adult provision at Leeds City College – Enfield Centre and College House. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to join as a Teaching Assistant for a division that was awarded Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2025.
The successful candidate will support learners who are English as a second language (ESOL) or students taking English and Maths. Working up to two evenings per week may be required.
The working pattern is 52 weeks but we will consider 37 academic weeks (term time only) if preferred.
Working hours are negotiable for successful candidates.
The contract is fixed term until 30 June 2026, but could be extended into permanent if there is ongoing demand.
What You Will Do
1. Work with teachers to support individuals who have additional learning support needs.
2. Identify ALS students and create an assessment plan to support them.
3. Develop the essential knowledge and understanding to support adult learners.
4. Support students to achieve their individual SMART learning targets.
5. Monitor students to develop their skills to enable progression.
About You
6. You should hold a L2 or L3 teaching assistant Qualification, or be working towards a qualification.
7. Have a good standard of spoken and written English.
8. Have some experience supporting adult learners in Further Education.
9. You may have some experience working in ESOL.
