Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for designing, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting control systems across a wide range of applications. You’ll work both in our shop and on job sites throughout New England, ensuring every system meets safety, performance, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and test control panels (per UL508A standards ).
* Program and debug PLCs and HMIs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
* Install and commission control systems in the field.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, layouts, and technical documentation.
* Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in real-time.
* Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and project managers to deliver turnkey automation solutions.
* Document control logic, revisions, wiring changes, and job site notes.
* Maintain high safety standards on every project site.
* Provide technical support and training to customers when needed.
Qualifications:
* Associate’s degree or technical training in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
* 3+ years of experience in controls design, panel building, or industrial automation.
* Strong understanding of HMI, PLCs, VFDs, relays, motor controls, and sensors.
* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
* Capable of interpreting and creating electrical schematics using CAD software.
* Self-motivated with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across MA and NH.
(Not Required):
* UL508A panel building experience
