Whats the Opportunity We have an opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join the team in our prestigious London office based in Southwark. You will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of structural engineering services and in return you will have the opportunity to gain experience working on varied projects which include a variety of large complex schemes through to smaller local client focussed tasks. Our projects are based both in the UK and internationally including F1 Teams, motor manufacturers, schools / universities, contractors, developers and local authorities. You will be encouraged to develop your skillset and experience to progress your career with the company. What you need to do to be effective in this role Prepare outline designs for structural schemes based on the clients brief Carry out detailed design calculations to Eurocodes using the latest 3D design software Co-ordinate your designs with other design disciplines and specialists with BIM Assist with the production of detailed design drawings and specifications for tender purposes Visit site during the construction phase to monitor on-site progress Carry out structural surveys of existing buildings and advise on any issues that may arise Analyse and report on structural defects in existing buildings and structures Check outgoing and incoming documents, including Contractors proposal documentation Skills and experience you need to have for this role A good understanding of basic structural behaviour. Possess a proactive approach with a can-do attitude. Be a team player within the structures team, the London Office and with clients and collaborators. A degree in structural or civil engineering and be working towards professional chartership status. Have proven structural design and site experience which you can describe clearly at interview. Demonstrate a good understanding of the basic regulatory requirements including Eurocodes. Have experience and understanding of sustainability issues within structural design. Be a proficient user of Structural Analysis software such as TEKLA, Masterseries, SCIA and TEDDS. Be competent at report writing and other forms of design communication.
