Health & Safety Advisor – Civil Engineering
Portsmouth
£45,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance/Vehicle + Benefits
We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading civil engineering contractor working on major infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced HSE team, supporting site operations through coaching, auditing, compliance monitoring and the promotion of best practice health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide health and safety support, guidance and training to site teams
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions
• Assist with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
• Promote behavioural safety initiatives and continuous improvement
• Support ISO 45001 compliance and health & safety management systems
• Liaise with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies as required
Requirements:
• NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
• IOSH membership or working towards Chartered status desirable
• Previous experience within civil engineering, construction or infrastructure projects
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Willingness to travel and stay away when required
Package:
• £45,000 - £55,000 basic salary
