We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, to join our hard working and supportive team. As a Catholic school, we are deeply committed to nurturing the whole child, rooted in the Gospel values of love, respect and service. We are looking for someone who will uphold and model our Catholic ethos, contributing positively to the spiritual, moral and social development of our pupils.
As part of St Mary’s team, you will be responsible for supporting children’s development through the provision of a safe, enriched and stimulating child-centred learning. You will support the teacher with the planning and teaching of the curriculum, using assessment outcomes to provide next steps, to extend and holistically support children’s development.
The successful candidate will:
1. Provide 1:1 and group pupil support;
2. Be a qualified Teaching Assistant;
3. Be passionate and enthusiastic about supporting children’s development;
4. Be experienced in supporting children;
5. Be able to use SEN skills/training/experience to support children’s needs;
6. Be committed to the school's high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care;
7. Have knowledge and understanding of the curriculum, with the ability to monitor and record a child’s progress.

15. Good interpersonal skills, a sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a hard-working, enthusiastic and committed team
16. Previous experience of working with children in a primary school would be desirable but not essential
