Children's Residential Deputy Manager
Location: Wisbech
Salary: £34,000 - £35,000 per annum plus an additional £3,250 - £6,500 per year for sleep-ins
Hours: Full-time, working long day shifts with occasional sleep-ins
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential
I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected provider of residential childcare services, seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to join a supportive and dynamic team in Wisbech. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or existing Deputy Manager who is ready to take on a greater leadership role within a nurturing and forward-thinking environment.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the home provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic setting where young people can thrive. You will be part of a regional network of children's homes, supported by a national organisation that values innovation, personal development, and the empowerment of its staff.
You will receive full support to complete your Level 5 qualification, grow your leadership skills, and develop into a future Registered Manager. The organisation promotes a therapeutic model of care and is dedicated to reducing restraint, focusing instead on empathy, understanding, and positive communication.
Key Responsibilities
·Support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and organisational standards.
·Provide leadership and supervision to staff, promoting a culture of positivity, development, and accountability.
·Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and emotional needs of children and young people are met at all times.
·Manage care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies tailored to individual needs.
·Oversee rotas, staffing, and budgets efficiently.
·Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
·Contribute to the continuous development of the home's therapeutic and child-focused approach.

Requirements
·Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a Residential Children's Home, ideally at Senior or Deputy level.
·Level 3 or 4 Diploma/NVQ in Children and Young People.
·Sound knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
·Experience managing rotas, staff teams, and budgets.
·Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
