Maintenance Engineer Location: Scarborough, YO11 Salary: up to £47000 Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 16:45 Friday: 08:30 – 15:30 Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus public bank holidays About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading manufacturing facility in Scarborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement of our production equipment and processes. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of all safety and guarding systems across the plant. Perform repairs, setups, and preventative maintenance on roll-forming machinery to optimise performance and minimise downtime. Work collaboratively with Production Supervisors to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. Coordinate with on-site subcontractors, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety policies. Diagnose and resolve faults in rolling machinery and associated systems. Support teams across Industrialisation, Manufacturing, and R&D with improvement projects. Analyse machinery breakdowns to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions. Contribute to mechanical design enhancements and carry out necessary modifications or repairs. Conduct bench fitting and associated workshop tasks as required. Take an active role in continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment. Comply with all environmental and safety procedures, including reporting and documentation. Immediately report any unsafe practices, misuse of equipment, or damage to infrastructure. Key Skills & Experience: Solid understanding of production process engineering. Experience in machine tool operation, including Lathe, Vertical Miller, and Surface Grinder. Working knowledge of roll-forming processes is desirable (training provided if required). Familiarity with Press Tool maintenance is an advantage. Competency in AutoCAD or similar design software (training available). Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
