We are seeking an experienced and driven Company Accountant to join our well-established and successful multi-franchise dealership in Victoria Bridge, Northern Ireland. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts function while managing HR operations to support a high-performing dealership environment.The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and Department Managers, providing meaningful financial insight, robust reporting, and operational support to help drive business performance and strategic growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the accounts department ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial dataPrepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlinesSubmit monthly manufacturer composite reports in line with franchise standardsProvide financial guidance and support to departmental managersManage and control all financial aspects of the businessDevelop budgets and financial strategyCalculate and administer manufacturer bonus schemesEnsure full compliance with HMRC regulations and statutory reporting requirementsManage and maintain the fixed asset registerMaintain accurate sales, purchase, and vehicle ledgersPrepare and submit quarterly VAT returnsMaintain and administer the DMS systemPrepare year-end balance sheet schedules and liaise with external accountantsManage payroll and pension administrationEnsure compliance with employment legislation and HR policiesAct as a first point of contact for HR-related queriesSafeguard confidential personnel files in accordance with data protection standardsKey Skills & ExperienceFully Qualified AccountantMinimum of 3 years PQEPrevious experience in a senior accounts role preferably within the motor trade but not essentialStrong knowledge of vehicle stocking plans and manufacturer bonus structuresStrong IT and accounting software knowledge (experience with Navigator, Pinewood, or similar DMS preferred)Advanced Excel SkillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a Management TeamStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracyStrong understanding of VAT and payroll processesExcellent organisational and leadership skillsWhats on offer?£40,000 - £50,000 basic salary, dependent on experienceMonday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pmFlexible working options including 35 hour optionOpportunity to play a key role in business growthFriendly and professional working environmentIf you are a motivated Accounts professional looking to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.Greg Mitchell Motors is an Equal Opportunities Employer.Skills:Monthly Accounts Accounts Management Year End Close VAT Journal Entries Fixed AssetsWHJS1_NI
