An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health CareProfessional to work as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Band 8a across the Emergency Departments of SouthTyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (B7 - if essential criteria notmet/no evidence of level 7 study to PGdip/not completed yr 1 RCEM curriculum )
The EDs at STSFT have a well-established team of Lead ACPs, ACPs andECPs (Band 8b to Band 6) across all areas of the ED. With this we can provideexcellent supervision and development.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing, diagnosingand treating patients presenting with a wide range of clinical conditions includingmedical, surgical and trauma cases. You will be required to provide flexiblecover over a 24hr period and rotate between the main ED and UTC on both sites.
The individual should be intent on delivering a high-quality ED service.Significant Emergency Care experience is essential however educationalopportunities are available. There is an ongoing work based educational andclinical supervision program. Successful applicants will be expected to followthe RCEM curriculum and engage with completion of the portfolio to credentialwith RCEM. You will be supported by a Consultant clinical supervisor and thereare opportunities to engage in Masters level study to complete an MSc.
Main duties of the job
The post includes 6hrs per week non-clinical time in which you would be expected to engage in leadership, governance and self-development activities.

Tobe a registered HCP (NMC/HCPC),
Successfulcompletion of an undergraduate degree

Significant experience of working as anautonomous practitioner in the acute sector.
Evidence of practical experience across the 4pillars of advanced practice
Non-Medical prescribing is required

The post holder will beable to work autonomously and be able to provide a high level of expertclinical management and care to patients within the speciality. They will actas a highly specialised role model for advanced practice, working closely withthe multidisciplinary team and other key stakeholders.
Undertake advanced clinical assessment and examination, includingbut not limited to:
Clinical data interpretation, investigation and treatment.
Resuscitation and first stage management.
Diagnosis and disease management.
Delivery of expert clinical interventions and treatments.
Non-medical prescribing.
The post holder willwork collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team. They will be expected tosit on the junior tier medical rota and work together with the medical andnursing teams to deliver a high quality service. The post holder will beexpected to cover days, nights and some weekend shifts in their job plan. Therewill also be dedicated allocated time for management and continuousprofessional development.
