The service comprises regulatory teams including Trading Standards and Licensing, Environmental Health, Environmental Protection, and Private Sector Housing.
Funding and Training
The government is funding the recruitment and training of apprentice Trading Standards Officers to enforce new regulations on cigarettes, tobacco, vapes, and other trading standards duties.
Role Responsibilities
1. Assist with reviewing complaints and intelligence.
2. Undertake compliance checks and seizure of non-compliant goods.
3. Issue advice to businesses and conduct criminal investigations.
4. Take statements and interview traders.
5. Manage your own caseload with limited supervision.
Candidate Profile
We seek an enthusiastic, dedicated individual who can learn quickly, communicate effectively, and organize tasks efficiently. Confidentiality and accurate record-keeping are essential.
Additional Details
This funded position focuses on tackling illegal and underage sales of tobacco and vapes, supporting compliance, and working towards a Level 6 professional qualification in Trading Standards and Licensing activities.
