The Role
The successful candidate will be a qualified technician responsible for quality maintenance, service, fault finding and repair of chemical plant equipment working a day pattern on a 24 hour / 7 day continuously operated process plant to ensure safe, efficient and effective plant operations.
Candidates should be aware that there are multiple roles available and these vacancies are both at the BPP and FPP areas of the plant. Candidates who are invited to an interview, will therefore be interviewed by both the BPP and FPP Maintenance Supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Performs mechanical work covering installation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment.
2. Works from engineering drawings and equipment specifications
3. Follows Maintenance Supervisor instruction to execute the daily mechanical maintenance plan
4. Installs and maintains mechanical equipment to comply with regulatory requirements
5. Can perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical failures
6. Works in accordance with Tronox values and safety requirements
About You
You will be motivated, talented, self-starter with the knowledge and experience to work closely with fellow Maintenance Technicians and contractors. Strong communication skills are essential.
You will ideally have the following qualifications, knowledge and experience:
7. Externally accredited qualifications at Engineering Craft/Technician level, NVQ3 Modern Apprenticeship / C&G Apprenticeship / ONC Engineering
8. Is multi-skilled, can perform the full range of Mechanical or Electrical Skills ( Fitting & Pipefitting, or Electrical and Instrumentation).
9. Be familiar with the ‘permit to work’ system, isolation procedures and safety management systems.
10. You will have strong communications skills, effective problem-solving skills and be able to work with minimum supervision.
