This is a role which is instrumental in assisting in the development and implementation of the supported housing service.
You will have a real opportunity to make a difference to older people's lives and empower people to remain in their own homes longer and prevent social isolation.
You will work closely with colleagues in a locally based team, providing support and assistance to older people, generally aged 50 upwards in the local area.
This will involve you in providing housing management and housing related support to customers in council tenure and to customers in private rented and owner occupier accommodation.
You will need to be customer focused, able to engage with older people and to work flexibly, with the ability to respond to emergency situations as well as undertake planned support visits and assist with identifying and delivering housing support needs.
You will work closely with a Housing Support Coordinator in order to assist them in the development of the service. This is an exciting challenge and opportunity to help deliver and shape services for older people in the city.
Although you will work primarily within a geographic area as part of a team, you may be required to cover Courts in other teams, across the City.
No formal qualifications are necessary as relevant training will be given, however a willingness to participate in ongoing relevant training is required. Experience in dealing with safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults is preferable.
A good level of IT skills is required for the use of online systems, and familiarity with Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook etc.
A clean, full driving license is required, as you will be required to use your own transport during working hours of which a car allowance will be given. The post is subject to Enhanced DBS check.

starting salary is £32,061
with annual progression through the salary bands.
