Our client, based in West Sussex, is currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer on a 6-month temporary contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical, gas safety and lifts within the compliance remit. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Ensure full statutory compliance across gas safety, electrical systems, and lifts/lifting equipment in line with current legislation and regulatory standards Coordinate contractor performance, ensuring servicing, inspections, and remedial works are completed within required timescales and to agreed standards Track and manage remedial actions arising from inspections, ensuring defects are prioritised and resolved promptly to minimise risk Monitor compliance dashboards and KPIs, proactively identifying risks, overdue inspections, and areas requiring intervention Support contract management activities, including reviewing contractor reports, validating completed works, and challenging performance where necessary Liaise with internal teams including Repairs & Maintenance, Asset Management, and Health & Safety to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance Provide technical and regulatory guidance on gas, electrical, and lift safety to ensure adherence to statutory obligations and best practice Experience required: Experience and knowledge of the current housing-related legislation of compliance work streams, e.g. fire safety, gas safety, asbestos, electrical Contract management and performance-led activities with the compliance sector Engaging with customers/residents Skills, knowledge and expertise required: Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and influence Excellent numeracy and IT skills Ability to manage complex budgets Ability to provide clear and concise technical advice and reports Strong project management skills Strong contract management skills Able to plan, organise and prioritise Rewards and Benefits: Hybrid working Flexible working days Working hours: 35 hours per week Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
